Merry Christmas from The Boynes'

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I can finally share our Christmas card. I didn't want to share it earlier as I was a little late getting them out this year and I wanted to make sure all our friends and family had received theirs in the mail before sharing it on the blog. Didn't want to ruin it for anyone! ;) So here it is ..

Of course I couldn't have a Christmas card without sharing a picture of my little cutie! I left the back fairly plain and simple so I could still write a short handwritten greeting to everyone.

Project Supply List:
Digital Stamps: Merry & Type, Seasonal Sentiments
Papers/Colours: Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Winter Green DSP

Merry Christmas

Hello All! I am sure everyone is busy preparing for the festivities in the next few days (week), I know I sure am. Today Gabriel and I delivered goodies and Christmas Cards to our neighbours and took coffee and chocolates to the nurses at work (and let them all have a peek at my handsome little man of course) and did our last grocery shop before the holidays.

I also managed to squeeze in sometime to try my hand at making my own homemade laundry detergent both for Gabe's cloth diapers and our regular clothes. I haven't used the cloth diaper detergent yet but I used the other detergent and it seems to work pretty good. Our clothes smelt and looked clean and I am saving a bundle, woo hoo!

Anyways on to more important things...I just wanted to take the time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope you spend the holiday season surround by loved ones, your tummies are full, and your heart is bursting. And I hope 2013 is full of blessings.

I will be taking a blogging break (gee I feel like I have been taking a lot of those lately, sorry) until after the New Year to spend some much needed and much deserved time with my family and loved ones. In the New Year I will be back and I hope to post quite frequently. I will offer more tutorials, giveaways, and shares. It's all part of my 2013 business goals, and I hope you will help me get there.

Happy Stamping,
Elizabeth Emma

Christmas Coasters

Recently I discovered how easy (and fun) it is to make tile coasters using Stampin' Up!'s beautiful designer series paper! I found a tutorial on one of my fellow demonstrator's blogs. And because they were so easy to make, and Stampin' Up! has so many different and beautiful designer series papers, I whipped up a whole bunch for my Holiday Craft Fairs and Shopping Nights.

These were some of my favourite. I just love this paper and think it is so cute! I made a few batches of these for myself of course (I will share more later). I packaged them up with a bow, and they all have felt feet on the bottom so they won't scratch your table. I sold them for $10 per set (4 coasters in each set) and still have a few left if you are looking for a last minute gift idea for anyone.

Aren't they darling?! I love the little owls!

5 Months Old!

Wow! Time sure flies! my little munchkin is 5 months (okay, 5.5 I'm a little late)! These last 5 months have been such an exhausting a wonderful adventure! I have loved every minute of it. I can't even imagine life without him now, it's hard to remember life before him even!
Gabriel has changed so much in 5 months! It's amazing!

At 5 Months Old Gabriel:
  • has rolled over from tummy to back a handful on times. Then I think he got lazy and has quit. Although mommy and daddy were both home to see it for the first time (yay!) and I got it on video (double yay!) so at least I have proof!
  • has had his first ear infection! Poor guy! After 2 different antibiotics and 1 allergic reaction, it is finally gone!
  • Around 13 lbs 9.5 oz and 26 inches long (this is what he was at his 4 month appointment which was a few weeks late)
  • wearing mostly 3-6 month clothing, still some 0-3 month, just a little guy!
  • Mostly wearing cloth diapers but when we are in disposables we are in size 2
  • Has been sitting up on his own for about 30 seconds - 1 minute without toppling over
  • Starting to warm up to his jumper, he chills in there while I make supper, although he hasn't quite figured out how to jump, he mostly spins haha
  • Has started eating some solids and loves it! He kicks his feet and waves his hands and squeals for more, it's hilarious to watch.
  • Has become increasingly difficult to put to sleep (ever since his ear infection) and he usually ends up in bed with us, and he fights naps to the bitter end. If anyone has any advice, I am all ears
This is his "women stop taking pictures of me" face.

I have so much to look forward to in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. Right now I am so excited for Gabriel's first Christmas. He already loves the lights on the tree and we've been singing Christmas Carols like it's nobody's business! I will be sure to post how it goes :)

I can't wait to share Gabriel's Christmas pictures and the MDS Christmas Cards I made for everyone, but I want to wait until everyone has received their cards in the mail first. No spoilers.

Happy Stamping,
Elizabeth Emma

November 2012 Craft Fairs

November was a busy month for me, craft show wise. I had 3 of them! I don't know if people realize the amount of work and preparation that goes into them. Wow. Exhausting I tell you. Especially with a little one at home. I am not sure if I am going to participate is so many so close together next year, we'll see.

I took a few pictures from my first craft show I attended. Unfortunately I had a bit of a brain fart that day and forgot an entire box of stuff, including all my retired stamps and even my sign. I wasn't very happy, but we went with it.

My handmade cards. I sell them for $3 each or 6 for $15. I lucked out on getting the card stand. My mom owns a floral and gift shop and found it sitting in storage not being used. I think it came with plaques or something on it at one time, but it fits my cards perfectly, bonus!

Table Shot. Usually I have a Stampin' Up! sign on the front and a smaller table in front with retired stamps and products.

Business Corner. Newsletter Sign-up, Current promotions, Current catalogues.

Another table shot. Tic-Tac Holders, Votive Packages, Tea Holders, M&M treats.

My tile coasters and handmade notebooks (large and small)

Thanks for stopping by.

Gabriel 4 Months Old...

Wow, time sure does fly, and I am getting slow and a bit behind on Gabriel's monthly updates. Our little baby Gabe is now 4.5 months old and growing like a weed.

Our favourite little man is sick right now :( Poor baby had a terrible ear infection and cold, but is looking much better lately. I knew something was up because he wasn't his normal, happy cheerful self. We had out regular 4 month appointment scheduled (a tad bit late because our Dr was away) and when we got there he was just screaming. Poor baby. We got a script for antibiotics, and no needles since he wasn't feeling well. So after a few days of his antibiotics, Tylenol, and lots of cuddles he is smiling again and still not 100% but on his way there!

Anyways I will stop babbling and get onto some pictures of this cutie!

Yup. I did it. I'm that mom. I put my baby in a pumpkin. He wasn't too impressed and all he really wanted to do was eat it. I was able to snap a couple okay pictures before he totally freaked out on me haha

Here is my strong little boy on his tummy. With his crazy hair do. I always tried to brush it after his bath but I give up because when he wakes up in the morning this is what it looks like. And he always get compliments on it, so I think we are just gonna roll with it.

At 4 Months Old:
  • 13lbs 9oz and 26 inches long
  • We have rolled from our tummy to our back, but only a handful of times, and only when naked/not wearing any pants...weird child
  • Looooves to be naked
  • Squealing and screaming in delight, hilarious to hear
  • Smiles and giggles all the time
  • Awake more and more
  • Favourite toy is his hanging Lamaze Butterfly and of course his Baby Einstein Activity Mat (this is the only way I get things done some days)
And I will leave you with my little Elephant on Halloween! Hehe, such a cutie pie!

And As always...

Busy Busy Busy

It's that time of year. The holiday season is fast approaching, I even saw snowflakes in the air yesterday (**gasp** I know, the horrors). I am busy, busy, busy getting ready for upcoming craft fairs. I am participating in three of them this year!

We went to the doctor today for my monkey's 4 month check-up. My poor little man has a nasty ear infection. No needles for him, antibiotics and cuddles are in order instead. I hope he feels better soon. Needless to say between being a mommy to my sick little man and getting ready for the first of my upcoming craft shows this weekend, I won't have too much blog activity this week!

I hope you all have a wonderful week though and I promise to share pictures and details of my Craft Shows as soon as I can. If you are local and in the area please come visit me on Saturday at the Listowel Kin Station from 9am - 2pm, I would love to see you there!

This is the invitation I made for Gabriel's Christening. I got the idea out of the Catalogue (always a great place for inspiration). I switched up the framelit and colours but the rest is about the same. I love this stamp set, it's so delicate and sweet.

Sending Christmas Wishes

Believe it or not it is time to start getting ready for Christmas. I know if you think like me it seems like it is far away, but really, it's not! Two months away actually. So i have slowly been trying to get ready, although with a 3.5 month old, it's difficult. I realized the other day I have all these craft fairs coming up and I am not at all prepared. I better get on it. Anyways I will stop mumbling and grumbling about what I have to get done and get on with the card.

This one was designed by my upline, Carolyn. I just love it. Although let's face it, I love anything with a little sparkle.

Stamps: Joyous Celebration
Ink: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red

Gabriel 3 Months Old!

Wow...major blog neglect! I do apologize, but I have a great excuse...this cute little guy! I'm busy being a mom and so my blog has been a little neglected, but I am okay with that!

Sorry this one is a little blurry. He was being Mr. Serious during this photoshoot. I swear, this blog post doesn't show it but he really is a happy, smilely, gigglely baby!

I just couldn't resist! The last face on the bottom right is what he does in his sleep every now and then. It's so sad, but so funny, I couldn't help but snap a few photos. Bad mommy!

Thanks for letting me share. I will be back soon with some stamping, I promise!

Shoebox Swap

Recently with my upline and sideline during our meetings we have taken to doing shoebox swaps instead of just one make and take. This is so much fun because you get to go home with a bunch of pretty new cards and ideas, and we get to chat business, family, and life while doing it!

Now, what is a shoebox swap you might ask? Simple. Everyone that is attending is in charge of making one sample card. You then cut up and prepare enough so that everyone who is attending came make one of card card, and you put all the supplies into a shoebox (or any box will do). The cards must be fairly simple and quick to assemble. Anything that requires cutting out or embossing with the big shot must be done ahead of time.

I absolutely love this idea though! We just had a meeting on Wednesday night and made a bunch of beautiful cards featuring items from the Holiday Catalogue. I am going to share a few cards from the swap we did in June though first (yes I am a little behind, but forgive me, I had a baby, hehe).

Stamps: Baby Prints
Ink:  Pretty in Pink
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Mambo Melon DSP, Whisper White
Accessories: Labels Framelis, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder

And of course because we like the inside of our cards to look pretty too, here's a snapshot of the inside.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just for You

I recently invested in the Blossom Punch and Mixed Bunch Stamp Set. I don't know why I took so long to buy these items because I think I have used them both everyday since the friendly man in brown (a.k.a. UPS man) dropped them off!

They are so versatile! The punch especially I have used it to punch out designer paper, card stock, used it with the stamp set, made some awesome paper flowers (stay tuned)!

Here's what I did with the two using some new in colours, check it out!

Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Midnight Muse Summer Star Fruit
Paper: Comfort Cafe DSP, Midnight Muse, Summer Star Fruit, Soft Suede, Pool Party
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Naturals Designer Button, Bitty Banners Framelit, Polka Dot Embossing Folder
