Birthday Invites!

The more I use MDS the less scared I am of it and the more I love it! I decided to use it for Gabe's birthday invitations and based the entire party off the colour scheme from the invitations. It was so much fun and I even make thank-you notes to match the invites (which I will share later since not everyone has received them yet).

Aren't they fun? They were so easy to create and with the click of a few buttons, Stampin' Up! prints them and sends them straight to your house with envelopes too! Perfect! One less thing I had to worry about for the party.

Don't have MDS yet? Download the 1 month free trial to get started! I guarantee you will be hooked and then you can purchase the download from my online store. You don't even need to wait to have it shipped to you. How perfect is that?

Still not convinced? What if I told you Stampin' Up! comes out with brand new downloads every week? Yes, every single week! That is probably my favourite part! Oh, and the fact that they are downloads so NO SHIPPING. Seriously, it doesn't get much better than this!

And like every Stampin' Up! product everything coordinates. The colours available in MDS match those that are available on paper too, so you can do some designing on the computer, have it printed (by Stampin' Up! or on your home computer) and add your own touch of ribbons, buttons, or other embellishments. The possibilities are honestly endless.

Gabriel's 1st Birthday

I can't believe it! My baby boy is 1! I know I have gotten a little behind in the monthly updates, but he's there, a whole year old.

We had a wonderful party for him (with the help of Stampin' Up! and My Digital Studio of course) and he got spoiled with hugs and kisses, cake, and lots of presents!!

A little bit empy but this was the food table. I traced cookie cutters I had to make the garland using Pool Party, So Saffron, and Basic Grey. I then strung them all onto striped pool party baker's twine.

Super cute wooden spoons and forks I got off Etsy. They say "Happy Birthday" and better yet are compostable! And of course I dressed them up with my new favourite accessory...Washi Tape!

Excuse the glare but this is one of the signs I made using My Digital Studio. It was so quick and easy using the "Many Mustaches" set and I was able to coordinate all the colours with the rest of the party (the beauty of Stampin' Up!)

Drinks!

Water bottle labels I made also using My Digital Studio.

"Here mom, try some"

The second sign I made using My Digital Studio.

Loving his cake!

We used mason jars for drinking glasses and I got these super cute paper straws off Etsy. We then used more pool party baker's twin and cardstock (along with so saffron) for the labels so people could write their names down in case they set their drink down and forgot who's was who's. I used the Fancy Label Punch to cut them out.

Hmmmm.....

Fam-Jam!
We rarely get a photo of all three of us together (mostly because I am usually the one taking them) and this one isn't even that great, but at least we have one!

I will share Gabe's birthday invitation (which I made using MDS) on another post.

Home Management Binder

I am finally getting into using MDS2 more and more! It's one of my New Years resolutions to start taking advantage of it more. Since I bought it it's sort of been a program I installed and forgot about. Well no longer!

I use a home management binder to keep tabs on everything going on in our little family. We may be small but it still always seems like we are busy busy busy! The binder includes things like important phone numbers, schedules, calendars, finances and budgeting, grocery lists, meal planning, and the list goes on and on.

I always had an ugly hand written cover on it. Then the idea occurred to me, My Digital Studio, Duh! So here it is, I made a quick and smile cover for the binder and now it is so much prettier!

I used the Domestic Goddess DSP and made the font colours to match. What do ya think? Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas from The Boynes'

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I can finally share our Christmas card. I didn't want to share it earlier as I was a little late getting them out this year and I wanted to make sure all our friends and family had received theirs in the mail before sharing it on the blog. Didn't want to ruin it for anyone! ;) So here it is ..

Of course I couldn't have a Christmas card without sharing a picture of my little cutie! I left the back fairly plain and simple so I could still write a short handwritten greeting to everyone.

Project Supply List:
Digital Stamps: Merry & Type, Seasonal Sentiments
Papers/Colours: Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Winter Green DSP

My Digital Studio, Take 2

Yesterday I posted about my first experiences with My Digital Studio. I mentioned that I had made a couple birth announcements/thank-you cards. Here is the second go I had at it.

Here is the front and the back (you can design both sides). I used the same colours as the one I shared with you yesterday, I just put a little different spin on it. What do you think? I plan on using these for thank-yous which is why I left the blank tag on the back of the card. I was going to hand make all my thank-yous but we all know how that went with my wedding thank-yous (if you don't know, it took me forever) and that was when I didn't have a little one to care for so I thought this one might be a bit quicker, but still made by me, and still super cute.

Right now I am trying to take advantage of nap time as best I can! I am currently making invitations for Gabriel's Christening. I hope to share those with you soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

My Experience with MDS

I am a little late to the game, but oh well. Awhile ago I bought My Digital Studio (MDS). I didn't think I was one for digital scrapbooking, I like the traditional paper, adhesive, ink, and stamps. I had heard so many wonderful things about it, I thought I might give it a go, and so I used some of my hostess dollars (a wonderful reason to host a workshop ladies and gents) and bought it.

After I bought MDS I loaded it onto my computer and it just sat there and sat there. To be truthful, I was a little confused. I know people my age are supposed to be all in touch with the digital world and totally love these things. And for the most part I am, and I do, but I couldn't seem to get the hang of it (I didn't give myself very much time however).

Well in one of our recent Stampin' Success Magazines (a publication exclusively for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators), I saw a super cute birth announcement made using MDS. And since that hits home right now, I decided to give it another go! You'll never guess, I absolutely loved it! And after spending some time with it, I found it is very easy to operate. I made a couple super cute thank-you/birth announcement cards for Gabriel, and quite quickly too (which is awesome from any mother's perspective I am sure).

So enough of my rambling on, here is my first attempt at My Digital Studio, please don't judge too harshly, I am just a beginner.

The picture is a little small, I apologize for that. This is one I took pretty much right out of Stampin' Success, but I thought it was a good jumping off point. I used the colours Wild Wasabi and Bashful Blue for the background, and the writing and Flag punch are Marina Mist.

Well what do you think? I made another one as well that I will share with you tomorrow. I hope there will be many more digital projects to come!
