Easter Treats

Easter is this weekend! Can you believe it? I know it's late this year but it still feels to me like it has creeped up on us! Here are a few Easter Treats I made to celebrate the occasion. I saw this idea awhile back on Kerry's Paper Crafts (http://www.kerryspapercrafts.com/), and thought it was super cute! I love that girl she has so many awesome and wonderful ideas.

Here is a picture of one of the holders without anything in it, it's a little easier to see this way. If you check out Kerry's youtube channel, she has all the instructions on how to make these wonderful creations! I believe hers are Valentine's Day themed!

Hope you enjoy, and happy stamping!

Bookmarks

So I had my creative juices at work again, it honestly amazes me how I have time for anything un-wedding related right now. But I think after making over 100 wedding invites (although they are absolutely gorgeous and I am in love with them) I need a change of pace every once and awhile, so I was working on these super cute giant paper clip bookmarks. What do you think. I will post some more pictures later on this week if I get a chance.

This was my "Brights" collection of bookmarks, I used Melon Mambo (cardstock-119930, ink-115656) and Daffodil Delight (cardstock-119688, ink-119667) cardstock and ink. I used Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogue, which I am sad to say is now over :(. The stamp sets I used for these ones were: "I {Heart} "(clear mount-118571), "Funky Four" (clear mount-120438), "Punch Bunch" fromt the Sale-a-bration catalogue, and "Always" (113620)
These are my "Spring Themed" bookmarks. I used "Springtime Vintage" DSP (121782) from the Occasions Mini Catalogue. The stamps I used were: "Bliss" and "Punch Bunch" from the sale-a-bration catalogue, and "For All You Do" (115360).
For the dog/cat themed ones I used the stamp set "D is for Dog" (115784).

Thanks for looking, I hope all is well with everyone out there. I might be MIA for awhile, this wedding is taking over my life!! We have our Stag and Doe on Friday of this week! I was really nervous about it, but our wedding party has really stepped up, so I am excited to see all our family and friends and have a good time! I will let you know the success of it on my next post!

And keep your eyes out for my wedding invitation post, it's coming!!

Happy Stamping!

Workshop Cards

So last week I held my first Stampin' Up! workshop! I acted as my own hostess for this one. I didn't have a lot of people come, but I think I am OK with that cause I was super nervous and probably wouldn't have done so well with a ton of people. Anyways we made two different cards, one focusing on the Sale-a-bration and another focusing just on things from the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue. They are fairly simple because it was mostly all first timers at the workshop, but we had a good time and things went fairly well I think.

For the sale-a-bration "Thanks" card I used:

Melon Mambo Cardstock #119930
Melon Mambo Ink #115656
Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119688

So Happy for You Stamp Set (sale-a-bration), clear #123220

Ice Cream Parlour Ribbon #123529
Lots of Tags Die #114508

Bird "For All You Do" Card I used:
Baja Breeze Cardstock #119972
Bashful Blue Ink 105209
Old Olive Ink #102277
Old Olive Cardstock #119934
Whisper White Satin Ribbon #114616

Punch Potpourri (level 1 hostess set), clear #120124
For All You Do stamp set, #115360
Two step Extra-large Bird Punch #117191
That's all I have for now Ladies and Gents. Now it's off to work for four hours at the hospital this evening. Then a 12 hour day tomorrow, yuck! But I did that to myself haha, these weddings things cost money you know, and it's slowly creeping up!! Eeek 3 months and 4 days!
Happy Stamping

To Our Brave Fallen Heroes

This is my fiance, Cody, who I love with all my heart and I am very proud of, and I don't think I tell him that enough.

On Thursday March 17th, 2011 in Cody's hometown of Listowel Ontario, two volunteer firefighters were killed in a fire that broke out at the Dollar Stop in the downtown.

30-year old Ray Walter of Listowel Fire Department and 56-year old Ken Rea of Atwood Fire Department were killed when the roof of the building collapsed while they were searching for victims.

The funerals for these gentlemen will take place this Thursday, March 24th, at the Listowel arena. There are as many as 12, 000 emergency personnel from all over North America expected to attend.
I would just like to take this opportunity to inform everyone how important volunteer firefighters are. They put their lives on the line every time the pager rings. They leave their families, and their Christmases, their dinners, and their memories to keep your family and your homes safe. They work hard, and the deserve recognition.
Next time you see a firefighter, a police officer, or a paramedic in your town, please give them a huge hug, from me, from you, from people everywhere, and tell them how much you love them and what an amazing job they are doing!!
I would like to send my condolences and my prayers to the Water and Rea families for their tragic loss. And also to members of both the Listowel and Atwood Fire Departments who both lost their brothers on that tragic day.
And Cody, I love you with all my heart. I hate that you have chose this career. But I love you and am proud of you and will support you in anything and everything you do.

Springtime Birthdays

Well my mother is going to kill me for posting about this, but recently (on Saturday) she turned the big 5-0 (shhhhh)!!!! Don't worry mom you don't look a day over 30!! ;)

I threw her a party, which turned out pretty good I think, lots of friends and family over. I love those moments! The house was full with people, it was 100 degrees, and complete chaos but we loved every minute of it. And she collected quite a few bottles of wine throughout the evening, which I think made turning 50 bearable.

Anyways enough of my rambling, to the point of my post. I made her a birthday card, and at special request from my dad I made her one from him too! Here they are! I just love them! I almost didn't want to part with them. That's my biggest stampin' problem...never wanting to part with the items I make because I just love them so much!

This card is so pretty if I may say so myself!
This one is my favourite! I absolutely love this stamp set! And the colours are so adorable!!
