Off to College

I can hardly believe it, my baby sister is off to College! Last Friday my mom and I moved my sister into Residence! I think she will have a great time and from what I hear her and her roommates are getting along together great. I have to admit I was a little jealous when moving her in.

Mom and I made Alex a basket with all the essentials she would need and of course I had to include some handcrafted goodness in there as well! Alex has said many times how much she likes the decorated notebooks I make...so I made her another one for College along with a matching pencil holder!

Stampin' Ingredients
Stamps: Betsy's Blossoms, Mixed Bunch
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Silver Glimmer Paper, Whisper White, Retired DSP
Accessories: Butterfly Punch, Flower Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Basic Grey Satin Ribbon, Rhinestones

Good luck to all those who started school this week, be it Kindergarten, Highschool, College, University, etc. I myself am starting an online course on Wednesday. I love this time of year, lots of beginnings!

Delicate Baby

Awhile ago I shared with you the baby book we made during our "Baby Scrapbook Class". The book was gender neutral and turned out just about perfect. A friend of mine, Lisa, made it as a gift for her nephew who was about to become a dad. Not too long ago, little baby Isla entered the world. Lisa wanted to do a little something to jazz up the outside of the scrapbook (now that we knew baby Isla was a girl) and made a card to go along with it, this is what I came up with!

I didn't do too much to the front of the book but I just love how it turned out! The new burlap ribbon in the holiday catalogue may be my favourite product right now, you can use it for so many different things!

Scrapbook Book Cover Ingredients
Burlap ribbon, Vanilla 5/8" flower trim, Blushing Bride pleated satin ribbon and a delicate doily

I am also loving how the card turned out (do I say that about everything I make?). Those doilies just make everything seem so pretty and girly!

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners, Hearts a Flutter
Ink: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Crumb Cake
Paper: Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Delicate Doily, Small heat punch, Itty Bitty Banners framelits, Hearts a Flutter framelits, pearls, Pool Party button and ribbon (from sale-a-bration), polka dot embossing folder and Calypso Coral baker's twine

Envelope Punch Board

Okay, so I don't think I have been this excited about a new Stampin' Up! product in a long time! Seriously, this thing is awesome! What is it you ask? Well, it's the new Envelope Punch Board (item #133774)! What does it do you ask? Well, it allows you to create envelopes of all sorts, from itty bitty to long and skinny!

Some highlights of the Envelope Punch Board include:
  • The ability to customize envelopes in up to 66 different sizes (not to mention a million different colour and pattern options as well depending on the paper you want to use). Even tried and true envelope sizes will only take you moments to create!
  • It's super easy to use! It looks intimidating at first glance, but when you see that all you have to do is measure for the first punch and from there you just turn and score you will be scared no more!
  • It's small and lightweight; this makes it easy for you to take with you to craft anywhere! It's small and light enough that you can use it while watching a soccer match, at the park, at a friend's for crafting night - anywhere.
  • It even has a slick scoring tool as well as a punch that lets you create rounded corners on your envelopes.
  • It's easy to keep it all together; the stylus storage compartment and two punches are designed into the tool so you don't have a bunch of little pieces to keep track of (even the instructions are printed right on the tool so you won't lose them!).
  • The price if terrific - especially for a tool that does so much (only $24.95)!
